Tour Plan

Day 1: SANTA CRUZ- MISSION OF SAN JOSÉ

Passengers will be collected and taken to San Jose, the third oldest of the Chiquitos Jesuit missions, founded in 1698 by Father Felipe Suárez. Its tower is built of stone and its style is late Baroque. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1990. The surrounding areas evoke a past era, the leafy vegetation and blue skies immerse travellers in an exciting journey through time. Lunch and visit to the church.

Day 2: SANCTUARY OF CHOCHIS - THERMAL BATHS OF AGUAS CALIENTES- SANTIAGO

The second day is full of discoveries. On the way to Santiago you stop at the sanctuary in Chochis, a centre of faith and devotion built by local craftsmen. Today it is a place of pilgrimage where the faithful congregate on the 15th of August every year to visit the Virgen de la Asunta, protector of Chochís and Portón. The next stop is at Aguas Calientes, thermal springs 32 km from the town of Robore (where lunch will be served). The River Aguas Calientes thermal springs are the biggest in Latin America at 5 km long. Emerge rejuvenated and full of energy. After lunch there is a visit to the church and dinner in Santiago.

Day 3: WILDLIFE MUNICIPAL RESERVE OF TUCAVACA- TRANSFER TO SANTA CRUZ

Today is for nature, on a visit to Tucava Park and its vantage point. The Tucavaca Municipal Wildlife Reserve is 400 km east of Santa Cruz on the road to the border with Brazil. Even though it is in the highlands, the area has abundant and well preserved vegetation as well as small villages that preserve their culture and history. The reserve was created in 2000 and covers an area of 262 305 hectares. The rivers that flow through the region and the southern part of the Bolivian wetlands -the Pantanal- rise in its mountains. Lunch and return to Santa Cruz.
