Tour Plan

Day 1: UYUNI- TRANSFER TO JIRIRA- COLCHANI

Transport from Uyuni airport to Jirira. Visit Colchani and Montones de Sal on the way. Lunch is included. Visit to Inkawasi, an oasis surrounded by islands with formations of algae and fossils. It is covered by thousands of giant cacti, some more than a hundred years old, growing more than 12 metres high. The landscape of Salar de Uyuni merges into the horizon, making this an ideal place for serious photographers. Cocktails at sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in Deluxe Airstream Camper.

Day 2: UYUNI SALT FLATS - COQUESA- JIRIRA

Breakfast and lunch in Airstream Camper. Excursion to the salt flats. Uyuni is the world's largest salt flat, on Bolivia's Andean plateau, and covers an area of 12 000 square kilometres. The deep silence makes your heart beat faster and plunges you into a surreal landscape where the sky is reflected by the land, playing with your sense of perspective and imagination. Transfer in the afternoon to Coquesa. Stroll through the village and walk to the cave of the Coquesa mummies. Return to Jirira. Enjoy a cocktail at that special time when the colours of the sky are reflected in the white desert at sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in Deluxe Airstream Camper.

Day 3: RED LAGOON - GEYSER SOL DE MAÑANA- CHALVIRI- GREEN LAGOON- LICANCABUR VOLCANO- HITO CAJÓN

After breakfast, visit Red Lagoon: covering 60 square kilometres at an altitude of 4278 m, its beauty takes one's breath away. Its waters are reddish and it is home to flocks of pink-feathered tokokoo flamingos; the similarly pink jututu and chururu, whose plumage is almost white. The birds' synchronised movements seem like an improvised ballet that you can watch for hours. Vicuñas, llamas and vizcachas can also be seen here.

Then a visit to the Sol de Mañana geyser, fumaroles and volcanic pools that form a spectacular sight in the strong wind that gives the visit seem more of an adventure. This area covers 1 square kilometre and is on the road to Salar de Chalviri salt flats. You can see boiling lava in the craters and the fumaroles throw out a mixture of hot water and steam to a height of 80 to 100 metres. A primitive landscape of boiling mud and lava, a throwback to the beginnings of time. This geothermal region is located at 4900 m.a.s.l.

The day ends at Green Lagoon, the waters of which resemble a gigantic emerald. From the shore you can see the majestic beauty of Licancabur volcano (5865 m), and the dazzling colour of the lake at sunset is caused by its high magnesium content. End the day at Hito Cajón (on the Chile-Bolivia border). Box lunch en route.
